Home Decor - Pattern with Panache

I would be the first to admit, and I've reiterated many times, although I'm an artist, when it comes to my home, I have a limited use of colour and pattern. However, in this home the designers have enlivened spaces with contrasting patterns and the addition of colour. In saying this it has been cleverly done so that this home still retains a traditional feel. A home void of colour and pattern lacks soul, the exception being a white interior where the designer may use neutral patterns and many different textures to bring it to life.  However, this post is about colour and pattern and the easiest way to learn about this is to examine a designers project such as this beautiful home by  Burnham Design . Whether your approaching winter or spring, there is no better time to give your bedroom a new look. I don't mean totally re-decorating, making simple changes to your bed linen and the way you dress your bed can give a fresh, new look to your private oasis. New bed linen is not going to do it alone, for a big impact you also need to think about the way you dress your bed, accessories to go with your new duvet, pillows/cushions, throws, coverlets and duvets need to work together. Co-ordinating, layering and texturing a bed will instantly make your space look and feel beautiful, a haven of relaxation. I don't know about you but if you put me in a bedroom with a black leather bed and red and grey cushions I would feel like I had just drunk 5 cups of coffee or stared at my phone screen for an hour and I would never be able to sleep.
